Eating 4oz of fish two to three times a week works well for Omega-3 requirements as well. And it is recommended to get as much nutrients from fresh food as much as possible...!

I was a big fan of fish oil but my cardiologist instructed me to stop taking it because of Eliquis, an anticoagulant prescribed for Afib. Is anyone aware of a substitution for fish oil for someone such as myself, something that would confer similar benefits but not risk thinning the blood too much?

To the best of my knowledge, fish oil at 3000 mg does not thin the blood.

Thanks for the very informative article. A question on dosage. My label on my fish oil says one daily dose (2 gels) is 500mg EPA/DHA. So I would need to take 8 gels to reach the 2000mg/day threshold? Seems like a lot. TIA

It seems like a lot because your product is not concentrated enough.. One of my favorite products, for example, has 1400 mg of total Omega 3s per 2 capsules:
